Letter: Alberta man seeks info on 1950 truck bought in Weyburn

The truck was first delivered to Weyburn and sold in 2013 by a Stoughton area farmer

This 1950 Chev truck was originally delivered to Weyburn, and the current owner would like any information about the original owner that might be available.

I purchased a 1950 Chevrolet one-ton truck from a farmer near Stoughton in 2013, and have been respectfully restoring it. I’m trying to find any information on the original owners name.

The farmer that I bought it from said he had bought it a couple of years earlier from the original owner on a farm close to Weyburn, who had purchased it new from the Chevrolet dealer in Weyburn in 1950. He could not remember his name.

According to GM vintage services, it was built in Oshawa and delivered to Weyburn.

When I went to register it in Alberta, the AMA government agent could find no record of it being registered before anywhere.

They called a Weyburn registry office and there was no record in Saskatchewan either.

If anyone might have information they can contact me at [email protected], or by cell at 780-719-6268.
