聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淲e would first like to say that the tournament was very high caliber for so early in the season. Any one of the 12 teams could have won the tournament. We as coaches are very proud of our Kipling girls who fought hard and played with a lot of heart throughout the two days,鈥 Coaches Garth Shoemaker and Susan Long agree. 鈥淓ven after losing the first set of the gold medal match, they came back to work hard and to want the win. We dedicated our tournament and gold medal to the memory of Benjamin Batters who attended school with half of our team. In honour of this, we would like to thank Gee Bee for the set of uniforms with his name over the players heart鈥檚. He lives on with us and pushes us to never quit, never give up,鈥 adds both Shoemaker and Long.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淣ext year we are renaming the tournament the 鈥淪usan Long Magyar Classic鈥 in honour of Susan Long鈥檚 35 years of coaching Senior Girls鈥 Volleyball in Kipling School,鈥 explains Shoemaker.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淲e always enjoy coming to Kipling because they have a very well-run and competitive tournament,鈥 comments Robin Ulrich, Head Coach of the Lampman Grizzlies who took the bronze medal. 鈥淚 was extremely happy with how the team played throughout the weekend. We were in a very tough pool and the fact we could come out of it undefeated and win the bronze medal, was a great boost for our team early in the season.鈥
