Life is never yet without a sense of irony and this is definitely the case regarding the latest news surrounding George Zimmerman. He's not done yet folks, after being acquitteded of murder charges in July he's in the news again. Yes, it was all over CNN, ABC and CBC last week, his estranged wife Shellie Zimmerman made a 911 call after a domestic altercation at a house in central Florida. Now, mind you, I can't even begin to imagine the stress George Zimmerman may have been under in the last couple of months. He's now, for the rest of his life, probably labeled as racist and he may very well be receiving threats from various angry organizations or rogue groups. And on top of all that, his marriage was on a rocky road leading to definite failure. I get it, it's a lot for any man to bear. But let's face it, after hearing the recording of that 911 call his wife made I am now convinced that his acquittal was a total mistake by the U.S. justice system. So the picture that was painted depicting him as a soft "protector type" character that looks out for the good of the community is out the door in my book. No more "Georgie" as one of his neighbours affectionately described him during the trial, which was further adding to the image of "I was in danger and protecting myself" persona.

In the 911 call, Shellie Zimmerman reported that George Zimmerman was threatening her father David Dean with a gun and had punched her father. Is this a case of his wife over reaching, maybe, but by all indications it doesn't seem likely. During the call, she repeatedly said she didn't know if he was going to shoot and he was making as if he was reaching for his gun, although he didn't actually pull a gun. This is the woman who would know Zimmerman best, however to give Zimmerman the benefit of the doubt, it could be a case of he said, she said. We can't come down on poor old "Georgie" so hard now can we. Well, let's go even further into the story and see if my rant is valid. According to police home surveillance cameras captured George Zimmerman smashing his wife's iPAD after which he proceeded to cut the device with a knife before officers arrived at the scene. Good thinking, because police are now trying to piece together the device and retrieve a video Shellie Zimmerman took of the dispute she had with her husband. What was that all about, well, police said Zimmerman explained that he went to the location to make sure his soon to be ex-wife took only the items she was instructed to take by lawyers. So after one of the most controversial and high profile murder cases in the last decade "Georgie" couldn't keep a low profile. How fueled up and angry can one guy be. But when you think about it, this is a lot for Zimmerman. I somehow feel sorry for him but I still think this is an overly aggressive guy and in regards to the Trayvon Martin case I still think he got off scot-free. This is a country (U.S.) that boasts one of the best legal systems in the world but I guess it's not the lawyers, the jury, the judge or Zimmerman to blame, it's the law. Those loop holes in the system are more like space-time continuum worm holes. Allowing one, if you meet the criteria of course to travel quickly through murder cases unscathed into a realm of "I can do whatever I want, even if I just killed a kid." Americans love their guns, I know this, but I'm tired of their argument of right to bear arms and all that jazz. It's ridiculous how an aggressor can quickly become the victim and then pay no price for their initial transgression. This guy is super lucky though, because after not only avoiding jail time in the Trayvon Martin trial, his wife chose not to press charges. In reports from her lawyers, she said she's trying to avoid the media attention surrounding their separation. But what is even more interesting, inthe divorce petition; Shellie Zimmerman said she and her husband separated a month after he was acquitted of any crime after fatally shooting Trayvon Martin. I wonder why, and this isn't sarcasm folks, I'm really curious as to the problems their marriage was facing, but I guess we'll never know.

But I also believe the public was given a different image of the jury. They were all females and many thought that they would sympathize with Trayvon Martin's parents, but it wasn't the case. One even did an interview on CNN and expressed her beliefs in gun rights and explained how it was only one jury member who thought Zimmerman was guilty. Maybe I am holding on to this too much but I just can't see how a guy who was the aggressor can shoot someone and get away with it. Well as Plato would say, "Justice in the life and conduct of the State is possible only as first it resides in the hearts and souls of the citizens."
