This is a copy of the letter I sent to the premier the Honourable Brad Wall:

My name is Ken Wilson.. I am a member of the Save Our Beds Board that represents the area of Deer View Lodge in the north east corner of the Sun Country Health Region .. This area takes in seven towns and villages as well as six rural municipalities . Our board has been appointed to represent this area and get a resolution to the three long term bed and two respite bed closures in Deer View. This highly utilized facility has not had a vacant long term care bed for over 10 years . The waiting list remains long . The facility is staffed with a full staff of RN's/LPN"s and SCA"s. Safety and infection control are not issues as your administration has suggested. We have overwhelming support of the area citizens .. The petitions to your government with appprox 2700 names support that .These closures are comparable to the closing of an entire facility in an urban center , We in this area have NO representation on the Sun Country Health Board . It also appears we have NO representation in your government . My reason for stating this are 1. Your minister of Health told us that he expected your board and our board to sit at the table and resolve this matter. , but your board chair has refused his wishes and our wishes.. It appears she believes we do not deserve any representation from this area,. 2.. without any representation on that board how can our concerns be addressed without this consultation.. Other communities and health boards in this province have been helped by you and your minister to resolve problems . why is that we are not entitled to the same process? We need your help . I understand you are a very fair minded and compassionate man.. I am quite sure you are aware of this situation, but if not, I believe it would be in your best interest to inform yourself. When your government needed help in the Potash affair ,you asked for the Federal Government's support and received it .. We need that same kind of support and respect from you and your government in this affair.. People here have worked very hard to build these communities and services, but now it seems your government is willing to let others destroy them . The displacement of our seniors continues. Just recently a 92 year old second world war veteran that has lived here most his life has been sent over one hundred miles away... He put his life on the line for rights and freedoms for all people. This action does not seem right when there are three long term beds and two respite beds sitting empty in his home community. In our area we have supported your MLA's for many years because we wanted change, but what you have awarded us with is short change.. So Mr Premier I am asking for your support . We would welcome the chance to meet with you and discuss this on behalf of our citizens. I expect to get a reply from you personally. Anything less would be an insult to the people of our area.

A very frustrated but sincere Kenneth H Wilson.
