Proclamation native prairie

Carolyn Gaudet of the Prairie Conservation Action Plan watched as Mayor Marcel Roy signed a proclamation to declare June 16-22 as “Native Prairie Appreciation Week”. This special week is declared jointly by the Ministries of Agriculture and Environment to encourage all Saskatchewan residents to go outside and explore native prairie, either in their own back yard or out in the country. The week is dedicated to raising awareness of native prairie ecosystems and their importance to the province’s environmental and ag sectors.
