The Mankota Stockmen’s Weigh Co. held an all class sale on June 9. There were 789 head sold.
Up for sale were three weight categories of bulls, five weight categories of steers, one weight category of heiferettes, seven weight categories of heifers and one weight category of cows.
Bulls weighing under 1,000 lbs. sold in a range of $10 and $167 per cwt at an average of $146.36 per cwt. Bulls in the weight category of 1,000 to 2,000 lbs. sold between $80 and $156 per cwt, and those weighing over 2,001 lbs. sold between $114 and $146 per cwt. Steers in the weight category of 401 to 500 lbs. sold in the range of $237.50 and $261 per cwt.
Steers in the weight category of 501 to 600 lbs. sold in the range of $140 and $237.50 per cwt. Steers weighing 701 to 800 lbs. sold at $180 per cwt, while those weighing 901 to 1,000 lbs. sold between $155 to $170 per cwt. Those in the weight category above 1,000 lbs. sold at $125 per cwt.
Heiferettes in all weight categories sold in a range of $110 to $160.50 per cwt. Cows in all weight categories sold between $5 and $139 per cwt. Heifers weighing 301 to 400 lbs. sold at $180 per cwt. Heifers in the weight category of 401 to 500 lbs. sold between $185 and $223 per cwt. Heifers weighing 501 to 600 lbs. sold between $150 and $219 per cwt, and those in the weight category of 601 and 700 lbs. sold in a range of $102.50 and $212.25 per cwt.
Heifers weighing between 701 and 800 lbs. sold in the range of $150 and $202 per cwt, while those weighing 801 and 900 lbs. sold at $149 per cwt. Heifers weighing over 1,001 lbs. sold at $148 per cwt.
The next sale is an all class sale on July 21. The Mankota Stockmen’s Weigh Company also released its fall sales dates. Sales will begin on September 1, 2017 with a yearling sale, followed by an all class sale on September 8. There are four sales in October beginning with a yearling sale on October 6, and all class sale on October 13, the Canadian rancher-endorsed Black Angus calf sale on October 20 and a Red Angus, Hereford and Charolais calf sale on October 27. November will have three sales with Angus calf sales on November 3 and 10 and an all breeds calf sale on November 17. The year will end with an all class sale on December 1 and an annual select bred heifer sale on December 8.
