Weyburn youth invited to come learn about sport of cricket

A free clinic to learn about cricket will be held at Jubilee Park on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 3-7 p.m.

WEYBURN – Weyburn’s own cricket team, the Weyburn Kings, along with the Regina Vikings Cricket Club, are holding a free clinic on Saturday, Aug. 6, at Jubilee Park, to help young people learn about the British sport.

The clinic will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. at diamond No. 6, for boys and girls, men and women from the ages of nine to 25.

There will be free pizza and drinks for participants.

Organizer Prem Devadas said they will show people the basics of cricket, and explain the rules of the game and how to use cricket equipment.

The Weyburn Kings have 11 players, and play in the Regina cricket league, where there are 25 teams to go up against.
