Weyburn wrestlers bring home medals from two tournaments

Weyburn wrestlers brought home medals from two meets, including the SHSAA regionals in Rosetown, and the 2024 Pupsel Invitational in Saskatoon.

WEYBURN – Weyburn wrestlers took part in two meets, including the SHSAA regionals in Rosetown, and the 2024 Pupsel Invitational in Saskatoon.

The 2024 SHSAA high school regionals were held in Rosetown on March 2, with a total of five wrestlers who competed, bringing home five medals, three gold and two silver.

Avlynn Drake won first for a gold medal in the Female 50 kg category; Khloe Higgins won first for gold in the Female 56kg category.

For the boys, Chris Dayaan won first for gold in the Male 53 kg category; Trotter Drake won second for silver in the Male 65 kg category; and Raiden Kiraly won second for silver in the Male 115 kg category.

Here are the results for the 2024 Pupsel invitational tournament held in Saskatoon on March 2. Weyburn had a total of seven wrestlers who competed and brought home six medals, one gold and five silver.

In the Freshie category, Brysen Richaud won first for gold; Lochlan Pirlot and Owen Pulfer won second for silver; and Anna Lanz placed fourth.

In the Peewee Male category, all three wrestlers won second for a silver medal: Owen Arthur, Jep Furgason and Donovan Lanz.
