Weyburn Silver Seals win medals during home invitational meet

A number of Weyburn Silver Seals competed during an invitational swim meet held at the Weyburn Leisure Centre on July 15.

The Weyburn Silver Seals Swim Club hosted an invitational swim meet at the Weyburn Leisure Centre on July 15. Several local swimmers won medals during the event.

In the girls ages 11 to 12 - 200 metre freestyle: Hayleigh Hovanak took first, Daisy Popuscu placed fourth, and Brenna Torkelson finished sixth. In the boys ages 11 to 12 - 200 m freestyle: Charlie Ashworth won second and Nikolas Nikulin finished third.

In the girls ages seven to eight 50 m backstroke: Elizabeth Wig won second and Aria Bernard placed fifth. In the boys ages seven to eight 50 m backstroke: Zane Warren placed fourth and Jase Skjerdal finished sixth.

In the girls ages nine to 10 - 100 m backstroke: Kassandra Madriaga won second, Alexandra Jose placed third and Avianna Sacopon finished sixth. In the boys ages nine to 10 - 100 m backstroke: Topher Wilkinson placed first, Cody Wig won second, Bentley McKinney finished fourth, and Russell Brock placed fifth.

In the girls ages 11 to 12 - 100 m backstroke: Daisy Popescu finished fifth.

In the girls ages 13 to 14 - 200 m backstroke: Avryelle Molnar placed third and Emery Barker finished sixth. In the girls ages 15 to 17 - 200 m backstroke: Tamberly Kreger won second. In the girls 18 and old 200 m backstroke: Rumina Edgerton finished first.

In the boys ages seven to 8 - 25 m butterfly: Zane Warren placed first. In the girls ages nine to 10 - 25 m butterfly: Shay Warren won first and Rehaam Manzoor finished third.

In the girls ages 13 to 14 - 50 m butterfly: Lily Popescu finished first and Avryelle Molnar placed fifth. In the boys ages 13 to 14 - 50 m butterfly: Jacob Gill placed first. In the boys ages 15 to 17 - 50 m butterfly: Dalton Molnar finished second. In the girls ages 18 and older 50 m butterfly: Rumina Edgerton finished first.

In the girls ages 9 to 10 - 50 m breaststroke: Shay Warren won first and Kassandra Madriaga placed second. In the boys ages 9 to 10 - 50 m breaststroke: Topher Wilkinson placed first. In the girls ages 11 to 12 - 50 m breaststroke: Daisy Popescu placed third. In the boys ages 11 to 12 - 50 m breaststroke: Charlie Ashworth finished fifth.

In the mixed open 400 m freestyle: Jacob Gill won fourth and Avryelle Molnar placed sixth.

In the mixed open 200 m backstroke: Shay Warren finished second, Hayleigh Hovanak placed fourth, Daisy Popescu finished fifth and Topher Wilkinson took sixth.
