Weyburn Comp field hosts Â鶹ÊÓƵeast District track meet

Athletes from throughout the southeast area converged on the Weyburn Comp School’s track field for the Â鶹ÊÓƵeast District track meet.

WEYBURN – Athletes from throughout the southeast area converged on the Weyburn Comp School’s track field for the Â鶹ÊÓƵeast District track meet on Wednesday, with the top athletes to now move on to the provincial SHSAA track meet on June 7.

The following Weyburn Comp Eagles athletes placed in the top three of their respective events.

In intermediate boys, in the 100 metre race, Aeryk Benning placed first; in the 100m hurdles, Alex Labrecque placed third. In the 200m race, Alex Labrecque placed second; in the 1500m race, Camden Husband won first place, and he also won first in the 3000m race. In javelin, Jack Bell placed third.

In intermediate girls, in the 100m race, Karis Gerle won first and Natalie Molde was second; in the 200m race, Natalie Molde won first, and she also won first in the 400m race.

In discus, Bailey Roy won first place; in long jump, Karis Gerle won first.

For the junior boys, in the 100m hurdles, Tace Odima placed second; in the 200m race, Brody Morrice placed second.

In the 3000m race, Luca Zieglgansberger placed second; in the 400m race, Tace Odima placed second; in javelin, Jacob Symes placed second; in long jump, Tace Odima placed second; and in shot put, Jacob Symes placed third.

For junior girls, Peyton Lokken was third in the 100m race; Zoe Kerr won first in the 200m, and second in the 80m hurdles; in long jump, Peyton Lokken was third, and she placed second in the triple jump.

For the senior boys, Noah Kopec won first in the 100m race; Conner Kerr won first in the 100m hurdles; Wylie Kopec won first in the 1500m race, and first in the 3000m race; Noah Kopec won first in the 200m race; Wylie Kopec placed second in the 800m race.

For senior girls, Amryn King won first in the 100m race, first in long jump and first in triple jump; Autumn Vilcu won first in the 1500m race, and first in the 3000m race; she placed second in the 400m race, and first in the 800m race.

In shot put, Amryn King placed second and Whitney Lanz-McIntyre was third.
