Weyburn Comp Cross Country team takes in districts at Oxbow

The Weyburn Comp Eagles cross-country team took part in the SHSAA districts in Oxbow on Oct. 4, and eight members will advance to the provincial finals.

The Weyburn Comp Eagles cross-country team gathered after taking part in the district finals in Oxbow on Oct. 4. WEYBURN – The Weyburn Comp Eagles cross-country team took part in the SHSAA districts in Oxbow on Oct. 4, and eight members will advance to the provincial finals on Saturday, Oct. 14.

The District results are as follows:

For Grade 7, who ran the 2 km race: Craig Elmore had a time of 12:23 and placed 17th.

For Intermediate Boys, running 3 km: Camden Husband won first place with a time of 11:59; for Intermediate Girls: Rylie Gervais won first with a time of 14:57.

For Junior Boys, running 4 km: Lucas Zieglgansberger placed sixth with a time of 20:52; for Junior Girls: Jyllian Payak placed fourth with a time of 22:52.

For Senior Boys, running a distance of 5 km: Wylie Kopec placed second with a time of 22:14; Calder McMillan was seventh with a time of 23:36; Mason Sidloski was ninth with a time of 23:54; Emerson Jack placed 12th with a time of 25:07; and Tauren Jack came 15th with a time of 26:17.

For Senior Girls, 4km: Autumn Vilcu placed fourth with a time of 21:34.

Advancing to Provincials in Regina on Oct. 14th are Camden Husband, Rylie Gervais, Lucas Zieglgansberger, Jyllian Payak, Wylie Kopec, Calder McMillan, Mason Sidloski and Autumn Vilcu.
