WAWOTA - A talented young golfer from Wawota has won a provincial high school golf championship, and another recently competed at provincials.
Kerr Cudmore, who attends the Wawota Parkland School, was part of the Team Â鶹ÊÓƵ East entry that won the male team gold medal at the Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association’s golf tournament Sept. 24 and 25 in Rosthern.
They had the lead after the first round with a team score of 212, six strokes better than Central Valley. Team Â鶹ÊÓƵ East’s score was 213 in the second round for a total of 425, 14 better than Central Valley’s 439 (218-221).
Cudmore finished fifth in the individual competition with a two-round total of 152 (76-76).
Other members of Team Â鶹ÊÓƵ East were Ryan Chernoff of Estevan, who won the individual tournament, Darien Herlick of Weyburn and Davin Bourassa of Radville.
In the female division, Team Â鶹ÊÓƵ East was ninth with a two-round total of 421 (208-213). Horizon Central won the female team competition with a 342 (176-166).
Representing the Â鶹ÊÓƵ East in the female division were Jordan Dorrance of Wawota, who was 22nd with a two-round total of 223 (112-111), and Faith Gershpacher of Rocanville, who was 27th at 236 (119-117).
Ella Kozak of Yorkton Sacred Heart won the female division with a 148 (78-70).
