Fri., Dec. 17/10 - Redvers -3 at Wawota - Big Six Hockey League

The Flyers took on the strong Rockets from Redvers and got a short-handed tally from Ben Brown to take an early 1 - 0 lead, a lead they took into the second period. In the second, Redvers knotted the score at 1, leaving the score 1 - 1 after two. The Flyers failed to take advantage of a couple of long 5 - on - 3 power-plays, a failure that ultimately resulted in this loss.

Redvers scored in the first half of the third and scored an insurance marker in the final two minutes to seal the deal. Ryan Potter was very solid in the Flyers' net, as the Flyers, overall, played quite well. This Redvers squad is a definite contender to wrestle the crown from the defending champion Midale Mustangs.

Sat., Dec. 18/10 - Wawota - 3 at Bienfait - 11 - Big Six Hockey League

Taking on the high-flying Bienfait Coalers with a depleted roster is never a good idea, and, with 12 regulars out of the line-up, this proved to be factual, resulting inthe 11 - 3 defeat suffered by the Flyers. The Flyers started strong and played quite well until the mid-point of the second period before the Coalers took control of this one.

The Coalers led 3 - 1 and 8 - 2 by periods, with Flyers' goals coming off the sticks of Brett Ashfield, Jordan Fox and Kristjan Hebert. Jason Shire tended the Flyers' cage, facing a very potent Coalers' offence. TheFlyers, whose 14 man roster included 7 playerswith one year or less of Senor hockey experience, played hard to the finish and are to be commended for their courage and competitive drive.
