On Saturday, Oct. 26, the Carlyle Cougars Sr. Girls' Volleyball Team hosted a series of exhibition games in order to help prepare for Conferences to be hosted in Carlyle on Saturday, Nov. 2.

Having played four exhibition games Saturday the Cougars did well taking on Redvers, Carnduff, and two Estevan teams.

Coach Bree Ryan has been impressed by the play of her team this season.

"They won a Wolseley tournament last weekend it was a tough one to win but they came through," Ryan stated. "It's been good, a lot of learning, they're peaking at the right time. End of the season they're getting to their max and their skills are clicking, so that's obviously a bonus, and they mesh really well together. I'm pretty lucky to have a group like that."

The top two teams to place at Conferences will move onto Regionals, where teams will then be vying for a spot to play in Provincials.

Setter/rightside hitter, Kayla Nelson, is looking forward to the upcoming competition as the team has come together over the season and she expects good things.

"I think this weekend will go great," Nelson said. "I feel pretty confident with the team."

Ryan also believes the team will have a good showing on Saturday, as they have been working hard, and she is hopeful they will place top two.

When asked about her thoughts on the upcoming Conferences, Ryan stated their chances are "[p]retty good, we've come across two of three teams coming and we've been successful. So, pretty positive, high expectations especially being on our home court, that's a big advantage."

Overall the season has been going well for the Cougars and all seem confident of their abilities moving forward.
