Skating for the love of it: 4th Annual Wawota FunFest a success

The 4 th Annual Wawota Winter FunFest was held on Sunday, Jan. 21, where young competitors attended to showcase their abilities from Wawota, Arcola, Carlyle, and Kennedy. The day began with Individual Events for stage 4-6 skaters.

聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 The 4th Annual Wawota Winter FunFest was held on Sunday, Jan. 21, where young competitors attended to showcase their abilities from Wawota, Arcola, Carlyle, and Kennedy.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The day began with Individual Events for stage 4-6 skaters. Competing were Chesney Murray and Leighton Syslak in the Stage 4 category; which was followed by competitors Amara Lees, Ashlynn Ippolito, and Callie Weston of Arcola, Brynn Chapman of Carlyle, Emily Antonenko, Haley Debenham, and Sybil Brickley of Kennedy, as well as Gracie Rohatyn, Isabella Restau, and Willow Byrne of Wawota in the Stage 5 competition.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Stage 4 and 5 鈥淛ump, Spin, Spiral鈥 were then hosted before a short presentation was held before the youngest skaters came to the ice.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Stage 1 skaters registered included Adalee Westen and Jax Klebeck of Arcola as well as Kate Lobert, Jayda Carpenter, and Alexandra Jamieson of Wawota.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Hedy Pelletier of Wawota was the solo skater in the Stage 2 category.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Chloe George and Gabriel Littlechief of Carlyle, Piper Bourhis of Kennedy, and Falyn Brown of Wawota all took part in the Stage 3 鈥淓lements鈥 competition.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 These young skaters then took part in team events to conclude the day.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to take part in the fun day, which allowed young skaters to perform their skills and abilities on ice in front of their loved ones in a fun competition setting.
