Silver Seals compete at two meets

Members of the Weyburn Silver Seals swim club travelled to Estevan on July 10 and Oxbow on July 11 to take part in a pair of meets. Two swimmers won overall silver medals in Estevan, and one swimmer claimed a bronze.

Members of the Weyburn Silver Seals swim club travelled to Estevan on July 10 and Oxbow on July 11 to take part in a pair of meets.

Two swimmers won overall silver medals in Estevan, and one swimmer claimed a bronze. Claudia Lenferna won silver in the female 18-and-over division, with two individual first place finishes and three second place finishes. Steven Speers won silver in 13 and 14 boys with three first place finishes and a second.

Dakken Bedore won bronze in the 13 and 14 boys with two first place finishes.

Three swimmers also won individual medals in Oxbow. Breanne Walkeden won gold in 15 to 17 girls with two first place finishes, plus a second and a third. Speers won silver in the 13 and 14 boys class with two firsts and two seconds. And Lenferna won silver in the 18-and-over female class with a first and four second place finishes.

The Silver Seals will have their home meet on Saturday, July 17, starting at 9 a.m.
