The Estevan Sherritt Coal peewee AA Bruins will be moving on to the second round of the Saskatchewan Hockey Association provincials. This comes after the Bruins defeated the Weyburn Youngfellows in both matchups of their two-game, total-goal series.

Estevan took the first of the game 4-1 in Weyburn last Wednesday. All the scoring came in the second period as Tyran Brown had a pair of goals for the Bruins, while singles went to Peyton Stevenson and Colton Winton. Cam Lavoie was solid in goal, making 33 saves for the victory.

Game two of the series was played on Monday night at the Civic, and thanks to two-goal performances by both Brown and Stevenson, Estevan came out on top again, this time 6-5. Matt Bill and Erik McKersie were the other Bruin scorers.
The Bruins were also in action in Moose Jaw for regular league play over the weekend. Despite being ahead of them in the standings, Estevan came out on the losing end in two straight against the Warriors.

The first game was on Saturday and saw Moose Jaw dominate the Bruins 10-2. The Warriors scored three goals in the first period, five in the second and two more in the third.

Both of Estevan's markers came in the final frame as Bill and Ryland Daoust each beat Moose Jaw goalie Thomas Martineau.

Although the Warriors came out on top again in the second game on Sunday, it was a much different affair. Moose Jaw held a 2-1 lead heading into the third where they added one more for the 3-1 victory. Stevenson accounted for Estevan's lone goal in that contest.

Next up for the Bruins is a home game against Moose Mountain on Saturday at the Civic, followed by a date in Weyburn against the Youngfellows on Sunday. Both games are at 5:30 p.m.
