In the first week of action, the opening day for Saskota Baseball took place on Tuesday, May 16.
               The Wawota Pats travelled to Estevan to take on the new Â鶹ÊÓƵeast Fireballs. The Pats earned a demanding win scoring 19 runs, while the Fireballs were kept down to 4.
               In Carlyle the Cardinals took on the Estevan Tower Wolves in a close battle. The Cardinals, last year’s champions, walked away with a win of 5-4.
               The Oxbow Chiefs visited the Arcola Threshers where the Chiefs were victorious by one run with the game ending 6-5.
               The Kenosee Cubs hosted the Redvers A’s for the season opener. The Cubs were successful, winning 8-5 over the A’s.
               Elsewhere in the league the Windthorst Pirates visited the Carnduff Astros. The Astros earned a win, 10-3, over the Pirates.
               May 18 saw the Wawota Pats fall to the Estevan Tower Wolves 15-1, while the Arcola Threshers lost to the Kenosee Cubs 5-3 and the Windthorst Pirates beat the Redvers A’s 6-2 on Friday, May 19,
               Action will continue take place – mostly – on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer, but a full schedule can be found online at .
               Upcoming tournaments include Wawota Sports Days on June 3, a tourney in Windthorst on June 10, The Big Moose at Kenosee/Carlyle on Canada Day weekend, and the Harbourne Memorial Tourney July 28 – 29 at Kenosee Lake.
               The Carlyle Cardinals will be defending their three time championship title in Saskota ball this season.
