Weyburn Big Muddy MLA and Minister Responsible for SaskEnergy Dustin Duncan was on hand to purchase the first 2011 SaskEnergy Saskatchewan Roughrider KidSport Calendar at the Legislative Building on September 28.

This year's charity calendar focuses on past Rider legends, such as Don Narcisse, and present Rider greats, including quarterback Darian Durant and slotback Andy Fantuz.

In its fourth year of operation, the 2010 SaskEnergy Saskatchewan Roughriders Calendar had a record setting year, selling 8,000 calendars and raising a total of $178,445 for KidSport Saskatchewan; over $60,000 more than was raised the previous year.

In a 12-year partnership between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and KidSport, a total of $707,916 has been raised. In turn, that money has helped provide over 7,000 children with the opportunity to participate in a sports program, fulfilling the KidSport motto that "all kids can play!"

KidSport is a registered children's charity that provides children in-need with financial assistance for sport registration fees, and in some cases sporting equipment.

The calendars are available for sale locally at participating Scotiabank and Co-op locations, as well as other select locations.
