PureChem Cougars looking forward

The Carlyle PureChem Cougars put in a valiant effort on Tuesday, Nov. 5, in Bienfait against the Coalers; but despite a battle the Coalers came out on top in a 9-5 win.

                  The Carlyle PureChem Cougars put in a valiant effort on Tuesday, Nov. 5, in Bienfait against the Coalers; but despite a battle the Coalers came out on top in a 9-5 win.

                  Scoring for the PureChem Cougars were Brett Turgeon with two – the goal in the first period was assisted by Cooper Fox and Turgeon’s goal in the second period was assisted by Billy Greenwood and Jordan Fox. Mark Shaw also found the net in the second period with an assist by Brett Turgeon and Branden Lequyer. In the third Cooper Fox earned a goal off assists by Brett Turgeon and Mark Shaw. Mark Shaw rang in the fifth goal off assists by Jordan Fox and Brett Turgeon.

                  Despite the strong effort it wasn’t enough to stop the Coalers; but the PureChem Cougars rallied together to come back strong on Dec. 8 versus the Oxbow Huskies. The PureChem Cougars scored in the first with Brayden Starr finding the back of the net off an assist by Troy Morrisseau and Clayton Geiger.

                  In the second period the PureChem Cougars earned two – Brett Turgeon earned an unassisted goal, while Mark Shaw scored off an assist by Kelly Currie.

                  Brett Turgeon lit up the goal in the third with an assist from Kelly Currie and Brent McLean; unfortunately it wasn’t enough to stop the Huskies who finished with six goals including a hat trick for Taysen Holt.

                  Facing Bienfait again, the PureChem Cougars faced a tough loss as they scored 3 goals but lost to Bienfait who won 14-3. Carlyle goals were earned by Ty Currie assisted by Brayden Liberion and Clayton Geiger, an unassisted goal by Brent McLean, and a second goal by Ty Currie assisted by Billy Greenwood and Brent McLean.

                  The PureChem Cougars will take on the Redvers Rockets in Redvers on Wednesday, Dec. 13, and will host the Midale Mustangs on Saturday, Dec. 16.
