Provincial women's rink from Weyburn named honourary life members

The 1976 provincial women's champions, the Delores Miller rink of Weyburn were made Honourary Life Members of the Weyburn Curling Club.

The 1976 provincial women's champions, the Delores Miller rink of Weyburn, had a special tribute on Boxing Day at the Weyburn Curling Rink.

Three of the original four, plus a member's granddaughter, gathered in the rink lobby for the special presentation of plaques as they were made Honourary Life Members of the Weyburn Curling Club.

Present was skip Delores Miller, second Marg Woodard and lead Jean Lowenberger, along with Abby Johnson sitting for her late grandmother, Gaby Kot, who was the third.

Just prior to the presentation, Abby's father, Clare, did an interview with the ladies as it was on a live Facebook post, then they all lined up with their plaques.

Club manager Jim Nikolejsin noted the club used to do this a lot, but COVID interrupted a lot of events and celebrations. The last honourary life members were Glen and Debbie Tollefson, inducted in 2015, and the Dean Miller rink in 2013.
