The fisrt period of this game was as close as you could get with a 4-4 tie. Making this possible was Jakson Hunphries in net who got a real workout against the flyers who proved to be a strong team. He had lots of help from Daine Thomas and Everett Brown who played their defense position no problem. Mitch Himmelspach and Tyrell Dixon put the puck where it belongs several times during this game which kept the Cougers in the game. The Flyers were not going to slow down and neither was Ty Ferhenbach who put some more ponts on the scoreboard. The Cougars can always depend on Max Waugh to be in the right place at the right time and assisted his team with another goal. Darcie Rae and Blake Robertson kept the puck in their end making it easy for Chase Roberston to score on the Flyers and assist his team mate in yet another goal. Mason Barta always plays smart when he has the puck which put three more assists on his roster. Samantha Colpitts and Alexander Bradley put the skills they learned in practice to use during this game making it tough for the Flyers to rack up any more points. Kale Arndt and Everett Brown must have been listening to the coaches on the bench because these boys played their positions well, giving Kale an assist for himself and helping the Cougars win the game 11-8. Great job kids!
Novice Cougars challenge Redvers Rockets on home ice
The Puck drops with Tyrell Dixon winning the face off and Alexander Bradley doing everything right to keep the Cougars in possesion of the puck.
Daine Thomas and Samantha Colpitts know that the Rockets are going to play a strong game so they hold the blue line helping keep the puck in their opponents end. Chase Robertson is a fierce competitor and he proved it true by firing the puck in the net and assisting his team mates to do the same.
Max Waugh worked hard to take the puck out of the corner and it all played off with another goal for his team. Quick on his skates and even quicker with his hands Blake Robertson scores a nice goal. Jakson Humphries and Ty Ferhenbach get in on all the action and assist but not without lots of hard work or their part. Everett Brown is always a trooper on the ice whether he's digging in the corner or holding the blue line his team can always count on him. Darcie Rae and Grady Benjamin know it's their job to keep the puck out of our end and hold it in the Rockets end and that's just what they do when they are on the ice. Mitch Himmelspach assisting one goal and scoring another knows it's the name of the game.
Mason Barta wastes no time getting in the corners or digging for the puck along the boards. Wheter it be in net or on forward Kale Arndt is a solid hockey player and he always puts everything he's got into the position he plays. The rockets won the game but the Cougars didn't make it easy for them. On Sunday December 22nd at 12:00 the Cougars will play the Wawota Flyers on home ice.
