Busy weekend at the rink for the Novice Cougars again, Saturday the boys would face off against the Redvers A team. The fans were treated to a fast paced, nail biter of a game. Leading his team out to battle this game is #4 Spencer 'speedy' Bell, he'll have to be quick in his crease and tough between those pipes to help us come out on top today. Redvers would open the scoring and hold a solid lead but #2 Mr.smilin' Tyler Colpitts would go down and answer for us to keep it a close 2-1 to end the 1st period. Our team was playing a great game with good hustle, quick back checking, and strong digging. When the action starts up again the crowd was not disappointed, early in the 2nd Redvers would come out and start the scoring making their lead a little bigger, but smiley wouldn't let his team or fans down he would go down and score with great cheers. Both goalie's put on an excellent show for the fans today, to keep it a close and exciting game, shutting out a lot of goals. That wouldn't be the cougars last goal in the 2nd period with a lot of hard work from the team and it seems the fans, smiley would score again! The game was all tied up, what a great game, you could feel the excitement in the air. It also wouldn't be Redvers' last goal our D fought hard and so did our goalie but they squeaked one in at the end to leave for the break 4-3 Redvers. All the kids came out skating hard but still Redvers would open the scoring! Not a problem we had time, 10 mins went by without a single goal, now everyone was getting anxious! But these kids have heart, skill and determination, it would be smilin' Tyler who ended the drought this period with a nice goal to get everyone excited and lessen the nerves! And less than a minute later #16 Adrien would get a nice pass from #12 Cade to go and score again to tie the game, well that got the bleachers shaking! A tie game is a good way to end, it really is, but that's not how this one did, with 5 minutes left, and keep in mind our goalie has been fending off the Redvers players since this period practically started, his new name might just be "spectacular" Spencer, his D has been helping him out phenomenally, but with 5 mins left. Smilin' Tyler would score for us one more time!!! And that's how this game would end 6-5 Cougars!! What a game everyone played, Tyler might have scored a lot but he needed his teammates to help him out to get down there with that puck to do it every time, hockey is not a one man show it's a team sport!! So give yourselves a pat on the back for a game well played and get ready for the next one, you play tomorrow boys!

Sunday leading his team on the ice is #7 Deagan Galbraith, he may be small but he's mighty! The boys must have been tuckered after yesterdays game because they didn't skate the same, it was a blow out! Deagan did his best and he made some really great saves, even used his head to block one! Hopefully they make it to the rink over the Christmas break to work on some things and they come out in the New year skating as hard they can and working together as the team we know they can be.

So from our house to yours have a safe and happy holiday and we'll see you at the rink in the New Year to start this craziness all over again, we wouldn't have it any other way, would we?
