Golfer of the Week
Bonnie Sidloski

Bonnie Sidloski is from Weyburn and enjoys playing the local area golf courses, having just completed a round at White Bear, where she golfs frequently.

鈥淭he course is in immaculate condition and I did not lose a ball.鈥 Which is a triumph in itself on the challenging course.

Sidloski started golfing in her forties, and likes to play four times a week, calling the course in Weyburn her home. She has golfed every year since taking up the game.

Sidloski usually looks forward to the women鈥檚 tournament held each year at White Bear, noting it has been cancelled this year.

She has played rounds at Mainprize, Kenosee, Avonlea, Katepwa, Willow Bunch, Stoughton and Carlyle, among other courses, and is virtually willing to play any course within driving distance of Weyburn, provided the course has grass greens.

Further away destinations she has had the pleasure of playing include Mountain Meadows in Elkford B.C., Medicine Hat, Ocatello, Desert Canyon and Painted Mountain in Arizona, and Breezy Point in Minnesota. Sidloski鈥檚 best round is an 82 at her home course in Weyburn and she has yet to sink a hole in one, coming inside a foot at Golf Kenosee on hole number 8. Sidloski鈥檚 favourite hole to play is the par 3, number 7 at Weyburn, remarking she likes it because it is a 鈥渂irdie鈥 hole.

Sidloski likes her Taylormade 10.5 360 driver, and chooses to play Taylormade irons as well. She uses a blade putter she won at a tournament, displaying the P&H logo, which was the company that donated it as a prize.

Her ball of choice is Project A, also a Taylormade product.

Sidloski recommends playing a round at the Rolling Pines Golf Course in Nipawin or Willow Bunch, which she describes as a gem for a nine-hole track to play.

When asked if she could play any course anywhere in the world, she says it would not matter what course as long as she could play the round with golf legend Freddy Couples.
