The Estevan Eclipse Downhole Solutions U18 AAA Bears have announced the commitments of four more players for their inaugural season that is slated to begin this fall.
Forwards Kieran Stewart, Colby Cuddington and Blaze Gutzke, and defenceman Parker Douglas have signed up to play for the club. The commitments were revealed on the Bears social media accounts.
Stewart is a 2003-born player from Oxbow entering his final season of minor hockey. He spent last season with the Estevan Apex midget (now U18) AA Bruins, and led the team in scoring with 25 goals and 44 points in 36 games played. The Bruins had the best record in the Saskatchewan Midget AA Hockey League.
Cuddington, born in 2004, hails from Manor and is coming off his first season of midget hockey. He had four goals and 15 points in 33 games played last season.
Gutzke, who is from Francis, spent last season playing bantam AA (now U15) hockey for the Weyburn Wings. He had 14 goals and 59 points in 31 games.
Douglas is entering his third season of U18 hockey. Originally from McTaggart, he spent last season with the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League’s Moose Jaw Warriors, and had five goals and 14 points in 44 games played. He is also the younger brother of former Estevan Bruins defenceman Zach Douglas.
The Bears now have 16 players committed to paly for the 2020-21 season.
Meanwhile, two members of the Apex Bruins have committed to play elsewhere last season. Forward Kaden Chrest of Estevan will play for the Prince Albert Mintos program, while forward James Mann of Carievale will skate for the Swift Current Legionnaires next season. Both are 2004-born players entering their second year of U18 hockey.
