ESTEVAN - The Estevan Eclipse Downhole Solutions U18 AAA Bears have won twice to open the preseason portion of their schedule.
Estevan beat the Notre Dame Hounds 5-2 on Sept. 11 in Wilcox. Carson Birnie had a hat trick for Estevan, including the game winner 4:47 into the second period. Daniel Ganert and Marshall Light also scored for Estevan.
Kaden Perron made 22 saves to get the victory.
The Bears opened the preseason with a 2-0 victory over the Regina Pat Canadians on Sept. 4. Kole Keen scored a shorthanded goal midway through the second period, and Cade Cole added an empty net goal in the third.
Perron and Eric Smith teamed up to stop all 26 shots they faced.
The Bears will play their lone home preseason game on Sept. 19 against the Pat Canadians at 5 p.m. at Affinity Place.
