ESTEVAN - The two Estevan teams competing at provincial tournaments in Estevan will be competing in the semifinals on Aug. 15.
The Estevan U11 AA Brewers won both of their games Aug. 13 at the U11 AA Tier 4 tournament, defeating the Weyburn Beavers 10-0 and the Saskatoon Blue Jay Knockouts 14-1.
The U11 Brewers will face the Lumsden Cubs on Aug. 15 at 10 a.m. The winner will advance to the gold medal game at 1 p.m.
The U11 Brewers entry is the age rep. team that competed in the Regina Baseball League this year.
Meanwhile, the U15 AA Brewers, comprised of players from Estevan’s house league teams, opened their tournament with a 13-2 triumph over the Saskatoon Cardinals on Aug. 13.
But they lost twice on Aug. 14: 12-10 to the Canora Reds and 8-5 to the Regina White Sox.
The U15 Brewers will play the White Butte Broncos at 11 a.m. on Aug. 15. The winner moves on to the gold medal game at 2 p.m.
Both tournaments are being played at Mel Murray Cactus Park.
