It was off to the Yellow Grass barn on the 21st to battle the Wheat Kings. The score ended with a 7-4 loss for the Cougars. It was a better game to watch then what the score would say. A well battled game that has unfortunately left us with two players out for the season. Tyler Matthewson, has some torn muscles and Billy Greenwood hanging out in Regina and having surgery for a broken leg. Johnstone, Liboiron, Fleck and Struthers all had goals, with helpers from Geiger, Fox, Shaw(2), Boutin and Struthers.
Monday, Dec. 23, the Cougars were off to Wawota for a tense game with the Flyers. McGonigal had the lone goal of the first period, with help from Turgeon and J Matthewson. Cougars sniped first in the second with an unassisted goal from Turgeon. Wawota responded and it was 2-1 Cougars after two. Wawota took charge scoring 2 goals in the third with their last goal scored with only 2 minutes left, to win the game.
It was onto 2020, with two more battles against Yellow Grass left. The first battle was on the 3rd and it was one heck of a game! 2-1 Yellow Grass after the first. 3-2 Cougars after the second and tied at 3 the end of regulation. Off to OT with The Wheat Kings coming out the winners. These two teams play again on the 17th and the Cougars are looking forward to another great game. Scoring for the blue and white were: Johnstone with 2 and Fleck getting the first of the game. J. Matthewson, Turgeon, Fox all earned single assists and Struthers had two.
