The Carlyle PureChem Cougars were defeated at home as they hosted the Midale Mustangs on Friday, Nov. 24 and the Carnduff Red Devils on Saturday, Nov. 25.
           The Cougars' 2-1 loss to Midale was a closely-fought contest, with both teams netting one goal each in the first period. Brett Turgeon scored the Cougars' sole goal, assisted by Kaelen Thompson, while Evan Kessorling scored for the Mustangs, assisted by Braden Kmits.
           The second period was scoreless, but in the third period, Midale claimed victory with a goal by Brad Tomiski, wth assists from Garrett Sherlock and Braydon Garson.
           Goalies Josh Hohn of the Cougars and the Mustangs' Derek Tondler handled 30 shots on goal from the Cougars and 38 shots on goal from the Mustangs during the game.
           The following evening, the Purechem Cougars hosted the Carnduff Red Devils at the Carlyle Sports Arena, with Carnduff winning 6-2.
           Kruz Wilson minded the net for the Cougars, while Cody Dumaine was in goal for the Red Devils.
           Carnduff opened up scoring in the first period with a goal from Brandon Trask, with assists from Nico Anderson and Shawn Gallant.
           During the second period, each team netted two goals, with the Cougars' Cooper Fox scoring both for Carlyle. Fox was assisted by Brent McLean and Clayton Geiger on the first goal and Clayton Geiger and Mark Shaw on the second. Justin Smith scored a single for Carnduff, with an assist from Cody Moore and Brandon Trask scored another goal for the Red Devils, assited by Nico Anderson and Cody Martin.
           Carlyle was scoreless in the third period, while Carnduff locked up the game with a team hat trick. Scoring for the Red Devils were: Justin Smith assisted by Cody Moore, Brandon Trask assisted by Cody Smith and Matt Smith with an unassisted goal.
           The Cougars' next home game will take place Friday, Dec. 1, when they host the Redvers Rockets at the Carlyle Sports Arena.
