REGINA - Â鶹ÊÓƵeast Saskatchewan has a representative on Team Saskatchewan at the Baseball Canada Cup Championship, which is running from Aug. 9-13 in Regina.
Carnduff's Carter Beck has been chosen for the team.
It's the latest accolade for Beck, who has starred with the Estevan-based Â鶹ÊÓƵeast U18 AAA Twins. For the second straight year, he was named the MVP of the Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League in the U18 AAA division and shared the top hitter award.
He has committed to play baseball for the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D., next season.
Each province has a team entered in the Canada Cup. Saskatchewan is in a group with B.C., Alberta, Ontario and Nova Scotia.
The host Saskatchewan team opened with a 1-0 win over Nova Scotia on Wednesday.
