The Novice Carlyle Cougars headed to Redvers for the first game of the season

On Nov. 2nd the team of fifteen were off to Redvers for a regular league game. The Cougars displayed real team work with everyone playing their positions and passing the puck around to make the Redvers Rockets scramble for control of the puck. The Cougars two center men Tyrell Dixon and Chase Robertson were on a scoring streak with Chase taking home a hat trick plus two and Tyrell got himself four goals and one assist in his first game of the season. One of Tyrell's goals was assisted by Mitch Himmelspach who dominates the right wing and got himself his first goal. Samantha Colpitts picked up her first goal during her shift on left wing when she went cross bar down. Max Waugh went on the ice after her to assist two out of the 11 goals scored that game. Darcy Rae and Blake Robertson back on defense held the blue line while Kale Arndt and Jakson Humphries were winning the battles in the corner. Everyone knew who Mason Barta and Everett Brown were when they were on the ice because they always had the puck. It was obvious that Grady Benjamin and Daine Thomas have been going to practice because it sure showed during this game while they were passing the puck up the ice. The game was intense, no one knew what the outcome would be, the points went back and forth and all the while Alexander Bradley chased the puck putting pressure on the Rockets. It was a great first game but Redvers took the lead by only one point with a score of 12 to 11.

On Nov. 3rd the Cougars challenged the Redvers Rockets. The Cougars show the fans their skills with some great passes, awesome defense, and teamwork in front of the net. Chase Robertson, Tyrell Dixon, Mitch Himmelspach, and Ty Fehrenbach all put their mark on the score board during this game but not without the assistance of their fellow teammates. Max Waugh got himself an assist when he passed the puck right in front of the net to his teammate. Jakson Humphries kept the Cougars in this game with his outstanding performance in net. Thanks to Grampa Gord for all his help at practice because Blake Robertson, Darcy Rae, Daine Thomas, and Everett Brown knew exactly what to do to keep the puck out of our end and in the Rockets end. Kale Arndt and Grady Benjamin dug the puck out of the corner and passed it along the boards to their teammates. Samantha Colpitts and Mason Barta are always in their position with their stick on the ice waiting to catch the pass. Everyone knows when Alexander Bradley is on the ice with his hard passes and smooth hands. The Cougars came out strong in this game taking home an 8 to 5 win.

Beinfait came to Carlyle ready to play some hockey. Alexander Bradley puts the pads on during this game to defend the Cougars net and does a great job during this intense, fast paced game. Mitch Himmelspach and Jakson Humphries have a great game putting some goals on their roster along with some assists to their teammates. You know you can always count on Darcie Rae and Blake Robertson on defense with their awesome passes which resulted in a few assists when Chase Robertson and Tyrell Dixon scored some goals to put the Cougars in the lead. Kale Arndt keeps the Beinfait goalie on his feet but manages to slip a few by him and rack up another assist for himself. Daine Thomas and Everett Brown play a tough game and made it impossible for Beinfait to get the puck passed them while they were on the ice. Mason Barta knows the puck goes in the net, which is exactly what he did when he was on the ice. Samantha Colpitts dominated the left side of the ice and managed to help her team with another goal and assist. Good game Cougars and great team work.

Good old dependable Alexander Bradley suits up for the second game in a row and he didn't disappoint with another well played game under his belt. There was no Cougars standing around during this game while Max Waugh fired the puck out of his corner and Blake Robertson kept the puck out of our end. Keeping their head up and passing the puck Grady Benjamin and Ty Fehrenbach put the pressure on the Kipling Royals making it possible for the Cougars to gain a few more points on the Royals with Chase Robertson and Mason Barta putting the puck in the net. Darcy Rae and Daine Thomas know their position and they know their job and that's to keep the puck away from the net and that's just what they did every time they were on the ice. Samantha Colpitts was on fire during this game and managed to assist one of her fellow teammates with yet another goal. Blake Robertson would have to break open his piggy bank after this game and buy himself a new stick after his awesome slap shot broke his stick. The Cougars won this game with a 12 to eight lead. These Cougars played a great game and are off to Redvers on Nov. 23rd.
