The Carlyle Cougars travelled to Lampman for a 6:00 regular league game. The Cougars bench was full as Alexander Bradley was snowing up the front of his net, getting ready for anything that came his way. Kale Arndt started off the Cougars with a goal within one minute into the game. Mitch Himmelspach always plays his position very well and that paid off for him in the first period with a goal and several assists. Jakson Humphries was another player who helped rack up the score board with another goal for his team in the first. Going into the second period Chase Robertson was on fire while he put the puck into Lampman's net three times giving himself a hat trick and Ty Ferhenbach assisted one of those goals as he passed it up from the blue line. Goals weren't the only thing the Cougars accumulated during the third period with Samantha Colpitts spending some time in the penalty box for crosschecking. Lampman now on a power play, the coaches knew Darcy Rae and Blake Robertson would keep the Imperials away from our net making it tough for them to gain any points . While the coaches were sleeping on the bench,Grady Benjamin was bursting at the seams to get into the play and left the players box a little to soon which resulted in a penalty for too many men on the ice. Mason Barta never missing a beat left no opportunity for Lampman to get a shot on our net. Everette Brown knows his position inside and out, showing the opposing team they wouldn't get in our end very easy. Tyrell Dixon works so hard on every shift it's well deserved when he takes a shot and the puck goes in the net. On right wing Max Waugh looks after things on his side of the ice resulting in an assist which helped the Cougars win the game against the Lampman Imperials.

On Jan. 25 the Carlyle Cougars challenged the Kipling Royals on home ice. Chase Robertson wasted no time taking control of the puck right off the face off and Mitch Himmelspach on wing was quick to pick up the rebound and placed the biscuit in the basket. Tyrell Dixon rushed the puck up the ice and made a nice pass to Jakson Humphries who took a one timer, adding another nice goal to his roster. Grady Benjamin and Everett Brown on defense stopped the flow not letting the Royals get close to their net. Max Waugh made it hard for the Royals to keep the puck on their stick when he was on a shift. Samantha Colpitts and Ty Ferhenbach are like a wall when they step on the ice as the Royals tried to deke passed them never making into the Cougar zone. Neither the Cougars or the Royals showed any signs of giving up and the fans in the stands were eager to see more hockey at the beginning of the third period. Alexannder Bradley stopped just about everything they fired at him first with his blocker then with his lid and he even did the butterfly. Mason Barta had perfect control of the puck as he rushed up the ice, making a pass across to Daine Thomas who took a nice wrist shot and landed the puck in the back of the net. Darcie Rae and Blake Robertson in our defensive zone angled off anyone who cross the line making it tough for the Royals to put any points on the scoreboard. The Cougars came out on top in this game, good job Cougars.

Carlyle Cougars Verses The Carnduff Red Devils

On Jan. 26 the Carnduff Red Devils made their way to Carlyle for a regular league game and it was a tough one. Alexander Bradley never expected it to be so busy in the crease but he never let up with his swift moves. There was a real mess of players in the neutral zone when Jakson Humphries comes out the other side with the puck, and taking it into the Carnduff zone. Carnduff, quick on the play, was making it tough for the Cougars to get set up. Chase Robertson carried the puck up the ice and put a point on the scoreboard for Carlyle. Samantha Colpitts and Ty Ferhenbach kept their side of the defense line clear. Max Waugh chased down his opponent, lifting his stick and taking possession of the puck. Grady Benjamin was determined to keep the puck out of his end and even laying flat on his belly, arm stretched right out managed to tip the puck over the blue line putting the Carnduff on off side. Tyrell Dixon battles for the puck off the draw, carries the puck into the Carnduff zone, turning off the left boards he makes a nice pass and Mitch Himmelspach catches it holding on as he goes through traffic but when he could feel the heat he flips it over to Mason Barta who had the fans on the edge of their seats as he fires the puck at the net "clank" i am sure it was music to the goalies ears as the puck hits the post. Using her stick, the most important piece of hockey equipment, Darcie Rae sends the puck up the middle of the ice while she guards her goalie. Everett Brown always made sure he knew where the puck and handled it with skill when it was on the end of his stick. As the clock was ticking down both teams were in the Cougars' end fighting for the puck. When it came loose Daine Thomas and Blake Robertson noticed right away. Daine picked it up and headed for the net. He shoots and scores. Carnduff played a great game and took the win.
