We had a busy 2 weeks of hockey for the Novice Wade Cougars. We faced off against the Redvers Jody team in Redvers on January 9th and won with a final score of 13-6. The next day took us to Wawota where we took a big win. On Sunday, January 11th, we travelled to Oxbow and played against Oxbow 1 and after a good game, we won 16-8.
This past weekend, on Saturday, January 16th, was Hockey Day in Saskatchewan and Carlyle’s Minor Hockey Day, which saw all of Carlyle’s teams playing a game on home ice. Instead of an entry fee to watch the games, a donation to our local food bank was asked of all teams. It is with huge pride that a lot of food and a cash donation was donated to our local food bank. Way to go teams and fans!
On Jamuary 16th, the Novice Wade Cougars faced off against the Novice Kirk Cougars in an intense game in front a large crowd. Coach Wade and the boys had a strong third period for a big comeback win with a final score of 9-7. On Sunday, January 18th, our team was in Oxbow against Oxbow 2 and had our first loss of the season in league play with a score of 12-10.
Next hockey action for our team is this Saturday, January 24th, against Oxbow 2, at the Carlyle Sports Arena at 11 am. Come on out and cheer on the boys and have lunch at the rink!Â
