The Carlyle Atom Cougars had a successful run this season in the Moose Mountain Minor Hockey League coming out on top over Redvers in the final.
During the regular season Redvers Rockets 1, topped the league with 18 wins for a total of 37 points, while the Carlyle Cougars trailed with 17 wins and 34 points for the season.
The Cougars took on the Carnduff Devils in the semifinal, before coming up against the Redvers Rockets who defeated Oxbow to move onto the final.
Throughout the season the Cougars were unable to beat the Rockets. Entering the final, the young Cougars were determined and ended the first game on March 10 with a win of 8-7 in a high scoring battle in Redvers.
The next day the teams faced off against each other again. This time with a lower score, but the same result. The Carlyle Cougars won the league with a 3-2 win on home ice.
