The Redvers and District Golf Club squared off against the Carlyle Golf and Country Club in the second annual Ryder Cup Competition this past weekend.
Redvers won the first competition last year and began their defence of the title at Carlyle’s home course on Saturday. The Saturday matches were two-man team alternate shot and individual match play games. Carlyle took advantage of the home course, taking a 13-5 lead going back to Redvers for the Sunday matches.
The teams played two man team matches of better ball, followed again by individual match play, with the Redvers team taking the day’s matches 11-7, but coming up short of retaining the tittle.
Carlyle took home the trophy with a two-day total of 20-16.
Members of the Carlyle team were Darryl Sutherland, Joey Easton, Martin Tourand, Kruz Wilson, Jamie Barnett, Joey Humphries, Clay Geiger, Riley Marshall, Dave Lemieux, Danny Rasmussen, Dakota Rose and Kelly Currie.
Martin Tourand holds up the hardware after the weekend competition between the Carlyle and Redvers golf clubs.
