CARLYLE - Local residents of Carlyle and surrounding towns may have noticed equipment belonging to the Wright Tree Service working on their streets.

The Observer caught up with one the crews in Manor this past week and talked to foreman Alain Saindon.

“The Wright Tree Service company is based out of Calgary,” he said. “They have been contracted by Saskatchewan Power to prune and remove tree limbs and branches that may interfere with their power lines in local communities. Here in Manor, we have over 200 trees that require removal or trimming. Our company only hires qualified utility arborists to work around power lines.”

Saindon also added, “It is very important to stay at least three metres away from all power lines unless you are an SPC (SaskPower Corporation) lineman or utility arborist. If you have tree branches less than a meter away from a line, please contact SaskPower.”

During the interview it was also learned that residents had the option to fully remove any trees from their property instead of pruning. Those trees have been labelled with a blue dot. In addition, the mulched wood chips are hauled to farmer’s fields which provides natural recycling.  Crews have been in the Carlyle area for nearly three weeks now and they have a lot of work lined up in many other towns and villages in southeast Saskatchewan.
