White Bear resident arrested on drug and firearms charges

A White Bear First Nation resident is facing several charges.

WHITE BEAR FIRST NATION - One person is facing numerous charges after a search warrant was executed Thursday at a residence on the White Bear First Nation.

Officers from the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Regina Crime Reduction Team, the Carlyle RCMP detachment and the Combined Traffic Services of Saskatchewan executed the search warrant.

The RCMP says officers located and seized 36.24 grams of cocaine packaged into 68 small bags, along with two illegally modified firearms, drug trafficking paraphernalia and cash.

Jaymes Bigstone, a 24-year-old man from White Bear, was arrested at the residence and charged with one count each of trafficking and possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

He is also charged with one count each of possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000 and unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon or restricted weapon; and two counts each of unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of a prohibited weapon with ammunition readily available without licence/registration. All of those charges are under the Criminal Code.

He will appear in court on Nov. 24.

The charges have not been proven in court.
