The Town of Carlyle is now home to some very happy canines and their owners.

Dog owners now have the option of taking their furry friends to the newly opened off-leash dog park in the West Park adjacent to the Moose Mountain Lodge.

The park has two separate enclosures, one for small dogs and one for large dogs. There is a fenced entrance area for leashing or unleashing dogs when coming and going.

The park has plenty of space and there is a sign posted at the entrance with the rules everyone is asked to follow to make for an enjoyable visit for both owners and their dogs.

The rules, posted in clear view at the entrance, ask owners to use the park at their own risk and to keep dogs leashed when coming and going. Dog refuse must be cleaned up immediately and placed in containers provided in the compound.

Owners should be in the compound at all times to supervise their dog with an available leash, and no more than three dogs under one person’s supervision are allowed at a time.
