Weyburn Tourism launches ‘Be A Tourist in Hometown’ campaign

For the fourth summer in a row, Weyburn Tourism is excited to launch the “Be A Tourist in your own Hometown” campaign.

For the fourth summer in a row, Weyburn Tourism is excited to launch the “Be A Tourist in your own Hometown” campaign. This year, a special focus to the campaign, which will run from July 5 to August 30, is to encourage Weyburn residents to explore Weyburn in a summer-long scavenger hunt.

“We are encouraging residents to #ExploreWeyburn by taking on our scavenger hunt all summer! Hints will be given weekly to show you where the prizes will be hidden on our social media platforms. Ensure you are following us on social media, Facebook and Instagram, @WeyburnTourism. Of course, we want to see your adventures while enjoying our community,” said Larry Heggs, executive director of Weyburn Tourism.

Once you find a weekly prize, the package will include a draw ballot. This ballot is for the grand prize. The more weekly prizes you find, the more entries you’ll get into the grand prize.

When you find a prize, take a selfie of the prize and where you found it, and post it on social media. You can tag them @WeyburnTourism, and use the hashtag #WeyburnBAT2021.

All ballots must be dropped off at the Weyburn Tourism office, at 11 ThirdStreet, which has a little black mailbox outside the office. If you are unable to bring it down, fill out the ballot and DM Weyburn Tourism through social media before August 30.

“2021 is a year where Weyburn Tourism is focusing on promoting outside activities with our residents in order to keep us all safe. We are hiding many local prizes, including coffee from McDonald’s and ice cream from 306 Creamery,” added Heggs. “This is a great way for you to Explore Weyburn. Plus, with your weekly prize, you can support our local community, which is really important to Weyburn Tourism.”

So, the big question is, what is the grand prize?? Stay tuned!
