WEYBURN – The Superannuated Teachers of Saskatchewan’s Weyburn chapter announced Reece Pittman as this year's recipient of its $1,000 scholarship.

Reece graduated from the Weyburn Comprehensive School in 2021 and has since completed her first year of Elementary Education at Lakeland College in their University Transfer program.

While studying at Lakeland College, Reece was also a player on the Lakeland College's women's hockey team, and is an alumnus of the Weyburn Gold Wings team.

Reece looks forward to becoming an elementary school teacher and inspiring many young students to be successful, not only in the classroom but also in the community.

The reward of having the opportunity to make a difference in young children's lives has motivated Reece to explore the teaching profession.
