WEYBURN – The Weyburn Leisure Centre will be closed to the public from Monday, Dec. 20 until it reopens on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022 due to the installation of a UV water disinfection system.
Leisure Centre office hours during this time will be, on Dec. 20-23, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and from Dec. 28-30, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The UV system is a piece of equipment integrated into the indoor and the outdoor swimming pool system which will help maintain safe water and benefit the current water disinfection process.
The UV light attacks different bacteria and viruses in the water system working along with the chemical and chlorine already used within the pool to maintain the safe, clean conditions for all pool patrons.
The addition of the UV disinfection system will dramatically decrease the amount of chemical required in the disinfection process, bettering water and air quality throughout the Weyburn Leisure Centre facility.
Valid membership passes for the Weyburn Leisure Centre will be extended by 14 days.
