WEYBURN – The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce is announcing the confirmed candidates will be in attendance for an All-Candidates Forum on Thursday, May 18, for the City of Weyburn’s municipal by-election.

The following candidates have been invited to participate in the Forum: Larry Heggs, Dana Pretzer, Trevor Tessier, and Brandon Tichkowsky.

“The Chamber looks forward to providing an opportunity for all municipal candidates to express their platforms,” said Executive Director, Monica Osborn. “The format of the event will be a hybrid event, meaning people can join in-person in the auditorium of the Royal Canadian Legion or log into Zoom.”

The event will commence at 10 a.m. and will also be recorded by Access Communications. This will not be a live broadcast on Access Communications, but will be aired on May 24, 26 and 29 at 7 p.m.

Candidates will entertain questions posed by both Chamber members and the public. Members of the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce and the public are encouraged to submit their questions to the following email: [email protected].

Alternatively, call the Chamber office at (306) 842-4738 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays to submit questions. Questions will be taken live during the event via the chat in Zoom.

The Chamber’s purpose in providing this forum is to facilitate a respectful dialogue between candidates. This is not considered an atmosphere for debate.

Candidates will not be given an opportunity to debate issues with their fellow candidates. They will be simply responding to the questions posed to them within a given time frame.

To receive the Zoom link, email [email protected].
