聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 The Carlyle detachment of the RCMP responded to a variety of calls between Thursday, Jan. 25, and the morning of Thursday, Feb. 1.
Animal calls
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Stray dogs were reported throughout the week.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Cattle were reported out between Redvers and Antler. 鈥淭he cattle were gone on arrival,鈥 Staff Sergeant Darren Simons says, then smiled, 鈥淢embers believe the cows determined the grass wasn鈥檛 greener on the other side of the fence.鈥
Assault
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 There was an assault reported in the Carlyle area, but the complainant didn鈥檛 want to lay charges.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 An individual was shot with a pellet gun in the Manor area. In response they took the pellet gun and beat the other person with it. Both were charged with assault with a weapon and both were charged with assault causing bodily harm.
Assistance
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Carlyle RCMP assisted BC RCMP with a subpoena.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 They also assisted Estevan Police Services with a warrant.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Members assisted at a fire call to the R.M. of Brock where a residence was burnt down.
Break and enter
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 There was a break and enter to a residence in Carlyle.
Failure to comply
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 An individual was found to be failing to comply with the conditions of their release.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 A youth was found to be failing to comply with their probation.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 There is an ongoing investigation regarding someone possibly failing to comply with their release conditions.
Criminal harassment
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 A report of criminal harassment was reported from Redvers.
False alarm
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 There were two false alarms responded to during this time. One was in Carlyle and the other occurred in the Carlyle area.
Alcohol related offences
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 An impaired driver was stopped in Arcola. They tested 0.15 and 0.14, nearly twice the legal limit.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 There is an investigation regarding liquor being given to a minor.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 A 60-day suspension was given out by SGI for a roadside suspension of an intoxicated driver who was driving without a licence.
Property damage
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 In the Carlyle area property damage was reported. RCMP were unable to locate the subjects involved.
Traffic offences
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Traffic members stopped someone with no registration for the trailer, no driver鈥檚 licence and with an obstructed licence plate. For these offences the individual was given two tickets and a warning.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 An individual was found to be driving with no insurance and with an obstructed licence plate.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淛ust as a tip, if the licence plate is obstructed police wonder why?鈥 Staff Sgt. Simons explained. 鈥淒id you just not clean it off or are you trying to hide the licence plate for some reason. We鈥檙e curious people, so I recommend keeping your licence plate visible.鈥
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 A vehicle was stopped for not having insurance, an unsecure load, and failure to produce registration.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 There was also a total of seven other vehicles driving with no insurance.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 One intersection offence took place during this time. The individual was fined $230.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 A speeder was stopped and fined as well as given an inspection notice for excessive damage to their windshield.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Warnings were given out to drivers for excessive damage to windshields, brake lights that were not red, inadequate mud flaps, obstructed licence plates, inadequate headlamps, signal lights, window tint, failing to dim their bright lights, the licence plate not properly lit, and speedometers being 鈥渙ut.鈥
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 An individual was stopped and given warnings for fenders/mud flaps, head lights, tail lights, and their muffler.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 There was a semi driver that was given $455 in fines: failing to document trip inspection, no 鈥渨ide load鈥 sign, and no permit for a wide load.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 The two highest speeding tickets this week included one for $195 and one for $184.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 An individual was driving erratically on a grid road. The driver was stopped and given a warning.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 There was an individual who passed vehicles on a double solid line. An off-duty member witnessed the action and contacted an on-duty member. The fine for this offence is $125.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 There was a report of an individual with a learner鈥檚 licence driving without a licenced driver in the vehicle with them.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 An individual was given a warning for driving on the highway in a distracting manner. This is doing anything that may distract another driver or a pedestrian. It is commonly referred to as a stunting ticket.
Nuisance
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 RCMP are assisting the Town of Redvers regarding municipal bylaws.
Theft
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 A reported theft under $5,000 was determined to be unfounded. RCMP remind individuals that if someone says they have forgotten their wallet and you reply that they can pay you later, this is extending credit and is not theft. If someone is unable to pay, do not extend credit, and deal with the matter at the time.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Theft from a residence in Carlyle was determined to be related to the Mental Health Act.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 There was a theft of an iPad from a business.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Theft of a truck was reported. It was determined that it hadn鈥檛 been stolen, but rather another driver with the company had used it.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 There was an attempted theft of a vehicle outside of a residence. The vehicle had been warming up in the cold. An individual was identified and is facing charges.
Motor vehicle collision
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 There was a collision near Stoughton. A semi lost a tire, which hit another semi and caused a chain reaction including a pickup truck also being damaged. There were two injuries reported with one being more serious, which was sustained by the semi driver who failed to wear his seatbelt.
