Weekly RCMP report: Jan. 9 to 15

                The RCMP detachment in Carlyle responded to 32 calls to service between the week of Friday, Jan. 9 and Thursday, Jan. 15.

911 calls

                There were two 911 calls placed during this time. The first came from Redvers where a misdial occurred and emergency services were not needed. The second 911 call originated from a school in the Carlyle area, but this was a false call as well.

Assaults

                Currently one assault in the Carlyle area is being investigated, while another assault complaint was determined to be unfounded. A third assault call resulted in the complainant refusing to pursue charges.

                The fourth assault call the RCMP received was between a 20-year-old female and a 22-year-old male; both have been charged in this case. The female was charged with assault and harassing phone calls; the male was charged with assault.

Assistance

                Assistance was given to public prosecution from Regina in serving a subpoena to an individual in the area.

                A manager requested documents on an ex-employee from the area.

                Members assisted in a child custody complaint, but discovered there was no court order in place stating where the child is to reside.

                Assistance was given to Canada Corrections with the statutory release of an inmate.

                The Carlyle ambulance service requested assistance with a potentially violent overdose, but police were called off.

                A welfare check was requested on someone in the Moose Mountain Provincial Park, but members were called off on their way to attend.

                RCMP were requested to check a boat’s registration in Kisbey to determine if it was stolen.

                Threatening emails were reported at the Carlyle detachment by a Manitoba resident. The individual didn’t want to lay charges.

Thefts

                There was a breaking and entering reported. The occurrence would have happened between November and last week. This matter remains under investigation.

                Currently under investigation as well include theft cases from Arcola and Forget.

False alarms

                A false alarm in Manor was called off. The janitor of the business had not realized the alarm was on.

                Members were called off of another false alarm, this time in Carlyle.

                RCMP spoke with students at Arcola School who had pulled the fire alarm accidentally.

Gun shots reported

                Gun shots were heard in the Carlyle area. Members attended, but were unable to locate a weapon or suspicious individual.

Mischief

                In Redvers there was a report of mischief. RCMP spoke to the two parties involved. The issue surrounded the renter of a home whose dog had damaged the floor. They were directed to the Rentalsman as it is a civil matter.

                Snowmobiles were reported in the Kennedy area for disturbing horses.

                Three tires were slashed on a vehicle in the Carlyle area and a 30-year-old female has been charged.

Driving infractions and collisions

                An intoxicated driver was reported near the Casino. Patrols were made, but the vehicle was not located.

                Reports of a driver with only their learner’s licence were received by RCMP, but the individual was not located.

                A motor vehicle collision took place near Kisbey. The vehicle went off the road and rolled into the ditch. There were no injuries and the matter is under investigation.

                There was a minor collision in Moose Mountain Provincial Park.

                In Carlyle there was a non-reportable accident. The individuals exchanged information.

Suspicious activity

                Suspicious activity was reported in the Kisbey area where an individual was selling all of their belongings. Investigation showed the individual was moving and wanted to sell some property before relocating.

                A suspicious person was reported at Kenosee Lake. Members didn’t locate the individual at the time, but do know who they are.

                RCMP also received a report of potential voyeurism, which is currently under investigation.
