Weekly RCMP Report: Feb. 13 to 19

The Carlyle RCMP Detachment responded to a total of 31 calls throughout the week of Friday, Feb. 13, and Thursday. Feb. 19. 911 call A dead moose was reported on Hwy 9 near the entrance to the park.

聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 The Carlyle RCMP Detachment responded to a total of 31 calls throughout the week of Friday, Feb. 13, and Thursday. Feb. 19.

911 call

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 A dead moose was reported on Hwy 9 near the entrance to the park. The complainant had pulled the animal off the road, but wanted to notify authorities. The Ministry of Environment was contacted.

Assistance

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 A man in the Carlyle area had a bad dream, so called the detachment for assistance in finding a hypnotist.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 An individual reported a complaint of a janitor using too much bleach to clean washrooms at a business in Carlyle. The individual was told it was a matter that should be discussed with the business they were at.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 In Redvers a complaint of a disturbance was reported. The matter involved child custody issues and the attending members advised the parties involved that it was a civil matter.

Break and entering

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 There was a report in the Carlyle area of a break and entering.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Members attended a possible break and entering in Redvers. An individual returned home to an open window, pipes frozen, and water all over. Nothing appeared to be missing and police believe the window had been left unlocked and blew open in the wind.

Sudden deaths

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 There were two separate calls regarding sudden deaths. Both calls were from Manor and are not believed to be suspicious in nature.

Finger printing

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 A 19-year-old female has been charged with failing to attend for fingerprinting.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Fingerprints were taken for an individual applying for a travel visa.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Two criminal record checks were performed where fingerprinting was necessary.

Failing to attend

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 A warrant has been issued for an 18-year-old male for failing to attend court.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 There was also a warrant issued for a 41-year-old female for failing to attend court.

False alarm

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 There was a false alarm members attended in Carlyle at a business, but it was found an employee was present and had accidentally set off the alarm.

Fraud

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 A possible fraud was reported where an individual bought a vehicle, but it required an inspection which was reportedly not disclosed to the complainant. The complainant requested the purchase be rescinded, but the individual selling the vehicle refused. Members advised the individual that it was a civil matter to be taken up in court.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 A complainant reported a suspected telephone fraud. The complainant said the caller exclaimed that they had won cash and a new car, when told that the cheque had their name on it the complainant asked, 鈥淲hat鈥檚 the name?鈥 The caller ended the call. No moneys or information was exchanged. The matter was reported to Phonebusters, Canada鈥檚 anti-fraud unit.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Reported during this time was a suspected fraudulent email. The complainant said the email read as being from her granddaughter, but was not. No moneys or information was exchanged.

Mischief

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 A vehicle left over night near Kisbey after it broke down was damaged.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Near Antler an excavator had broken down and when the individual returned to it the windows had been broken.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 In Carlyle a vehicle was egged.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 An abandoned vehicle near Kisbey was damaged and vandalized.

Traffic infractions

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Four speeding tickets were issued during this time: a 26-year-old male was fined $150, an 18-year-old male was ticketed $137, a 31-year-old male was fined $372, and a 33-year-old male was ticketed $137.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 An individual was reported for driving a vehicle without their child being properly buckled in. RCMP were unable to locate the vehicle.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 In Redvers an 83-year-old male was fined $175 for failing to wear his seatbelt.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 An inspection ticket was issued to a 25-year-old male to have their speedometer fixed.

Motor vehicle collision

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 There was a single vehicle roll over near Kenosee Lake on Hwy 9. The driver had hit a hardened snow drift with their vehicle and the car flipped.

Suspicious person

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 A person was reportedly hitchhiking along Hwy 9 near Kenosee Lake. Members attended, but were unable to locate the individual.
