聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 鈥淏efore we get into the report I just want to talk a little bit about boat and bike safety,鈥� Staff Sergeant Darren Simons said. 鈥淚鈥檝e already had people question us whether they can use alcohol on a boat. The only time that it is legally permitted to drink alcohol on a boat is if the boat has a cooking area, sleeping facility, and a washroom. The boat must also be moored or docked 鈥� so it can鈥檛 be moving.鈥�

听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淪o, no, it鈥檚 not legal to be on a pontoon boat cruising, looking at cabins, and drinking beer or wine.鈥�

听听听听听听听听听听听 The other major spring concern that Simons wants to address are bicycles: 鈥淏ikes are to behave like motor vehicles. They have to stop at stop signs, youth have to have helmets, and you can鈥檛 cycle against traffic 鈥� you鈥檙e supposed to go with traffic.鈥�

听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淪pring has sprung quickly and there are people all over our roads. Bikes might have the right of way, but if there鈥檚 a collision they could end up being dead wrong.鈥�

听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淲e鈥檇 also like to remind all drivers at this time to drive defensively. Drive as though a kid might run out onto the street at anytime or a bike might appear out of nowhere.鈥�

听听听听听听听听听听听 The Carlyle detachment of the RCMP responded to a variety of calls between Thursday, April 19, and the morning of Thursday, April 26.

911 calls

听听听听听听听听听听听 911 calls reported in this portion of the report are unrelated to other files. The RCMP receives more than are listed in this section, but those will appear in other categories throughout the report.

听听听听听听听听听听听 A static line was determined to be an issue that Sasktel has corrected.

听听听听听听听听听听听 There was a 911 misdial.

Assault

听听听听听听听听听听听 There was an assault reported in the Carlyle area. No charges were issued.

Assistance

听听听听听听听听听听听 Carlyle RCMP assisted Regina Police Services with locating an individual with warrants.

听听听听听听听听听听听 There were a couple of Child Welfare cases RCMP aided with.

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP assisted Corrections in May with a temporary absence.

听听听听听听听听听听听 An individual missed their meeting with their probation officer.

Automobile collisions

听听听听听听听听听听听 Two hit and runs were reported during this time. In the one file a vehicle was damaged by another vehicle hitting it 鈥� there are currently no suspects or clues.

听听听听听听听听听听听 The other hit and run resulted in damage to one vehicle, which the other vehicle may not have realized happened.

Fire

听听听听听听听听听听听 There was a pasture fire reported near Stoughton.

Fraud

听听听听听听听听听听听 An individual reported something they thought was a fraudulent transaction. They had purchased a washer and dryer on a buy and sell site. They were delivered, but the purchaser discovered they didn鈥檛 work. This is not a criminal matter, however, and is buyer beware.

听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淢ake sure you do your due diligence before purchasing anything in this way,鈥� Simons said.

Alcohol related offences

听听听听听听听听听听听 An impaired driver was stopped and given a 72-hour suspension as well as a warning for an unregistered vehicle.

听听听听听听听听听听听 A caller identified a repeatedly impaired driver. RCMP will be doing frequent patrols to ensure road safety.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Alcohol consumption at a residence in Redvers contributed to a verbal altercation, which RCMP dealt with.

听听听听听听听听听听听 An individual was reported for leaving a residence while impaired. Patrols did not locate the driver.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Intoxicated individuals were causing problems at a residence in Redvers. The matter was resolved by talking it out.

听听听听听听听听听听听 There was an intoxicated male banging on an apartment door. He was arrested and lodged in cells until sober.

Mischief

听听听听听听听听听听听 An individual reported ATVs and dirt bikes illegally driving through Redvers. This matter is under investigation.

Driving infractions

听听听听听听听听听听听 A driver was given a warning for not having a renewed driver鈥檚 licence and for not having registration on their trailer.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Three people were stopped for not having their vehicles registered: two were fined $580 and the third was given a warning.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Inspection tickets: a couple of warnings were given for excessive damage to their windshield, inadequate headlamps, burnt out headlights, insufficient taillights, window tint, inadequate daylight running lights, and brake lights that weren鈥檛 working.

听听听听听听听听听听听 There were three intersection related offences: two were fined $230 while the third was given a warning.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Top speeders this week were a driver fined $360 and two different drivers were also fined $392 for travelling at excessive speeds.

听听听听听听听听听听听 A speeding ticket was issued to a driver as was a warning for not having their child properly restrained in a booster seat.

听听听听听听听听听听听 There was a ticket given to an individual for improper driver鈥檚 licence.

听听听听听听听听听听听 An investigation was conducted regarding a youth driving recklessly and charges are expected.

听听听听听听听听听听听 A warning was given for failing to produce their registration upon request by an officer.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Three different individuals were stopped and given a warning for obstructed licence plates.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Failure to display a licence plate led to the driver being stopped.

听听听听听听听听听听听 A vehicle was stopped for overcrowding the driver鈥檚 compartment.

听听听听听听听听听听听 There was an individual who failed to comply with their licence endorsement/restrictions and was also given inspection notices for inadequate fenders/mud flaps as well as for their mufflers/exhaust.

Stolen property

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP seized a stolen ATV. Charges are expected to be laid on the individual in possession of it.

Uttering threats

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members are investigating the report of an individual uttering threats to another person.

Narcotics

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP are currently involved in an ongoing drug investigation.
