911 calls

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ An individual confused 411 with 911 multiple times.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ Highway workers were reported for being unsafe, but the caller wasn’t willing to give more information on the matter.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ A child was playing with the telephone and called 911.

Alcohol related offences

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ An impaired driver was pulled over. They blew 190 mg and 180 mg – over twice the legal limit of 80 mg.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ An intoxicated female on the highway near Arcola was reported. She was arrested and lodged in cells until sober.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ There was an investigation into an ATV collision in the Antler area, which involved alcohol. While on scene three individuals were charged with open liquor, one was given a 72-hour suspension, and one is facing charges for leaving the scene of an accident.

β€œWe as a society have to change,” Simons stated. β€œDrinking and driving ATVs is against the law. Drinking in public is against the law. Know that when you involve alcohol with ATVs, snowmobiles, and boats that it increases the risk of injury, death, or criminal charges.”

β€œI’d like to reiterate that Saskatchewan’s tradition of having a road pop must end – if you don’t know what a road pop is that’s good, it means you haven’t participated in. But, please don’t drink and drive.”

Assault

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ There was an incident in the Carlyle area at a residence where an intoxicated individual was interacting with his girlfriend, which resulted in charges. The individual was charged with assault, mischief under $5,000, mischief over $5,000, and uttering threats.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ An individual was charged and released by a neighbouring detachment on behalf of the Carlyle detachment.

Assistance

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ The Estevan Police Service requested the Carlyle RCMP to arrest someone in this area that they were looking for.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ Two well-being checks were requested by Regina Police Service.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ Assistance in obtaining a statement for an investigation was conducted for the Regina Police Services.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ RCMP assisted EMS with a mental health call.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ There was a child welfare check conducted.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ Members of the RCMP aided the Redvers Fire Department in a call.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ There have been people turning in firearms through the gun amnesty program.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ Members responded to a mental health call in the Wawota area.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ Assistance was given to the Winnipeg Police Service regarding a vandalism complaint.

Break and enter

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ There was a break and enter reported in the Redvers area, which is being investigated.

Breach of conditions

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ An individual was on conditional orders, but failed to follow them. They are being held in custody.

Driving infractions

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ β€œWe’d like to remind the public that on May 1st fines are increasing,” Simons explained. β€œRCMP have no involvement in defining fines… we are there to prevent people from breaking the law and if they do break a law we are to prescribe a ticket. The amount tickets are for are set by the Traffic Safety Act.”

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ A careless driver was reported in the Kisbey area. This was passed onto a neighbouring detachment as the vehicle had already passed out of the Carlyle detachment’s area.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ There was a warning issued for careless driving.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ An erratic driver was reported on Hwy 9; patrols were made, but the driver was not located.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ There was a driver fined $580 for an insurance violation.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ Four intersection offences were ticketed for $230 each.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ The speeding high for the week was a ticket for $139.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ Two warnings for speed were given out. In one instance the driver was also told to secure their licence plate and in the other instance the driver was given a warning for failing to produce their driver’s licence.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ An individual was stopped for speeding and also given a warning for excessive damage to their windshield and an inspection ticket to have it replaced.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ A couple of seatbelt violations were ticketed: $175 each.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ There was someone stopped for following too close to another vehicle.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ Warnings were given to multiple individuals for headlamps, daytime running lights, damaged windshields, and to repair a licence plate.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ An individual was fined $150 for driving without a licence.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ The driver of a vehicle was unable to produce their registration permit upon request by a police officer and was fined $100.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ A trailer was reported for having inadequate tires. This complaint was passed onto a neighbouring detachment as the vehicle had already left the Carlyle detachment area.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ An inspection ticket was issued for replacing a licence plate with faded numbers and letters.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ There was an individual found using a cell phone while operating a vehicle. This matter was dealt with by an off-duty member.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ An individual was fined $280 for driving without due care and attention. This matter also involved a minor collision.

Fraud

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ An individual reported that they received a phone call, which involved an alleged call from the bank.

Failure to attend

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ There were a couple of people who failed to attend their court date.

Harassment

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ Harassing communications were reported by an individual regarding a former employee.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ There were harassing communications via Facebook that were reported.

Mischief

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ Property damage in Wawota caused by someone banging on a door was arrested and charged for mischief.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ A report of mischief/disturbance at a business in the Carlyle area was reported for information purposes.

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ Staff Sergeant Darren Simons reminds the public, β€œYelling, screaming, and swearing in public can be considered a disturbance. If you are yelling, screaming, or swearing in a business it can be charged as mischief. There’s nothing stopping you from entering a business, but if necessary police can easily become involved.”

Sexual assault

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ There is an ongoing investigation into a historical sexual assault.

Illegal narcotics

ΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύΜύ An investigation is ongoing as RCMP look into information regarding the trafficking of illegal drugs in the Carlyle area.
