聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 The Carlyle RCMP detachment dealt with several files from Thursday, March 29 to Thursday, April 5.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Staff Sgt. Darren Simons of the Carlyle RCMP detachment reminds members of the public that the gun amnesty continues until April 29.
听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淚f you have firearms you don't want and you want the RCMP to pick them up, please contact us and we will do so,鈥 says Staff Sgt. Simons. 鈥淚f you bring them in to us, please leave them in your vehicle and a member will come out and pick them up. Please do not carry them from your vehicle to the detachment yourself. It does not look good for someone to approach a police station with a firearm - for any reason.鈥

听听听听听听听听听听听 An individual called 911 for the purpose of requesting a ride. 鈥淲e explained to this person that 911 shouldn't be used for the purpose of calling a 'buffalo cab' - which is a nickname for RCMP patrol cars because of the buffalo painted on the vehicles,鈥 says Staff Sgt. Simons with a smile. 鈥淏ecause it doesn't always take you to where you want to go.鈥
听听听听听听听听听听听 One call to 911 was made by a child playing with a phone, while two other calls were due to SaskTel computer glitches.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Alcohol-related Offences
听听听听听听听听听听听 Several intoxicated individuals were lodged in cells until sober after the report of a disturbance in the Carlyle area.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Two intoxicated individuals were lodged in cells until sober after RCMP received a call about property damage in the Carlyle area.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Members responded to three reports of possibly-impaired drivers in the Kisbey and Manor areas. 鈥淲e appreciate these calls,鈥 says Staff Sgt. Simons. 鈥淲e make patrols and we appreciate everyone's efforts to make our roads and highways safe for us all.鈥

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members are currently investigating a dog complaint in Arcola.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Assault
听听听听听听听听听听听 An assault which occurred in Redvers resulted in an individual being arrested and charged.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Members responded to an assault which occurred in Carlyle. RCMP contacted social services, due to their concern for children in the residence. 鈥淎nytime there are children involved in a situation聽 like this, police will contact social services to assist the children and hopefully, the parents, too,鈥 says Staff Sgt. Simons.
听听听听听听听听听听听 One assault within the detachment area was reported to police, but the individual involved did not want to lay charges.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Assistance
听听听听听听听听听听听 Carlyle RCMP assisted the Regina Police Service with warrants.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Members responded to a call from Carlyle which reported an adult female and a child walking in and out of a local hotel during extremely cold weather. Police found that the pair were at the wrong hotel and provided assistance.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Police provided assistance to the corrections department regarding the temporary absence of individual prisoners. 鈥淲e often assist the corrections department with these matters,鈥 says Staff Sgt. Simons. 鈥淚ndividuals who are incarcerated are sometimes granted permission to visit family or to attend funerals or other family events. When this occurs, they are usually lodged in cells here so they don't get into any further trouble.鈥

听听听听听听听听听听听 A person who was previously arrested for domestic assault was found to be in breach of their release conditions.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Child Welfare
听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP responded to a child welfare call regarding a custody issue.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Members responded to a situation in which there was a disagreement over child care at a residence.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Criminal Harassment
听听听听听听听听听听听 Police are currently investigating an allegation of criminal harassment within the detachment area.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Collisions and Traffic Violations
听听听听听听听听听听听 A motorist collided with a deer in the Wawota area. This individual was not injured.
听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP responded to a call reporting stray horses on Hwy 9.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Two motorists were fined $280 each for operating cell phones while operating a motor vehicle.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Members issued several speeding tickets this week, with fines reaching a high of $388.
听听听听听听听听听听听 A driver was fined $580 for operating an uninsured vehicle.
听听听听听听听听听听听 A motorist was fined $100 for failing to produce their vehicle registration.
听听听听听听听听听听听 An individual was fined $100 for failing to display a licence plate on their vehicle.
听听听听听听听听听听听 An individual received a warning from police for failing to stop at a posted stop sign. The fine for this offence is $230.
听听听听听听听听听听听 A motorist was charged with driving while disqualified.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Mental Health Act
听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP dealt with a call under the Mental Health Act in Redvers.
