Weekly RCMP Report

The Carlyle RCMP detachment responded to several calls between Thursday, March 8 and Thursday, March 15. Members from the detachment will be in attendance at a Rural Crimewatch meeting in Wawota, Tuesday, March 27 at 7 p.m. at the Wawota Town Hall.

聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 The Carlyle RCMP detachment responded to several calls between Thursday, March 8 and Thursday, March 15.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members from the detachment will be in attendance at a Rural Crimewatch meeting in Wawota, Tuesday, March 27 at 7 p.m. at the Wawota Town Hall. Everyone is invited to attend.

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP will also be giving several talks in upcoming months, entitled 鈥淏efore You Hit Send.鈥 These presentations - addressing internet awareness and safety - will take place at schools within the detachment area.

听听听听听听听听听听听 911

听听听听听听听听听听听 Three 911 were received this week. One was a misdial; one was abandoned and the third call was from a resident of Manor who reported that young people were knocking on doors and running away. The young people in question were located, spoken to by police and returned to their parents.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Assault

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members responded to the report of an assault which originated in the Carlyle area. This was deemed to be unfounded by police.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Assistance

听听听听听听听听听听听 Carlyle RCMP provided assistance to Corrections Canada with regard to a prisoner who was returning to the detachment area for a visit as part of their pre-release conditions.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Police responded to a report from a school in the detachment area regarding a child's absenteeism.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Alcohol-related offence(s)

听听听听听听听听听听听 A motorist was arrested on Hwy 9 for impaired driving. This individual was also charged with operating a motor vehicle without insurance and for headlight and tail light violations.

听听听听听听听听听听听 An impaired driver was arrested near Redvers.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members responded to a report of an impaired driver in the Antler area.

听听听听听听听听听听听 An intoxicated individual was arrested and lodged in cells.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Break and enter

听听听听听听听听听听听 A break and enter at a residence in the Carlyle area is currently under investigation by RCMP.

听听听听听听听听听听听 False alarms

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members responded to two false alarms within the detachment area during this period.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Fraud

听听听听听听听听听听听 Staff Sgt. Simons reminds members of the public to be wary of attempted fraudulent activity, saying: 鈥淚 recently received a message on my personal phone stating that the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) had a warrant out for my arrest and that the RCMP were coming to get me.鈥

听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淵ou can imagine my surprise,鈥 he smiles. 鈥淏ut if someone calls and if you think it might be true, whatever you do, don't panic and don't rush. Instead, call FraudBusters and/or talk to someone you know before you respond - if you respond.鈥

听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淐hances are, it's not legitimate, but if you rush to respond, you'll make a mistake.鈥

听听听听听听听听听听听 聽An individual in Arcola purchased and item via the internet, but did not receive the item.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Mental Health Act

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members dealt with one file under the Mental Health Act.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Mischief

听听听听听听听听听听听 Several individuals were removed from a residence in the Carlyle area and returned to their homes by police.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Property damage

听听听听听听听听听听听 There are no suspects regarding deliberate damage to vehicles which was discovered after a party in Arcola.

听听听听听听听听听听听 In Carlyle, an ice scraper was used to damage property.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Theft

听听听听听听听听听听听 A theft over $5,000 from an oilfield construction site in the Arcola area is under investigation by Carlyle RCMP.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Traffic offences/Collisions

听听听听听听听听听听听 A collision in the Redvers area resulted in injuries to two individuals. Both people were transported to hospital, with one person receiving further treatment in a Regina hospital. As a result of this accident, an individual was charged with: dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified, obstruction and a stop sign violation. RCMP also confiscated a child safety seat. Staff Sgt. Simons says: 鈥淧lease check expiration dates on child safety seats. And remember, once a child safety seat is involved in a motor vehicle accident, it is no longer safe to use.鈥

听听听听听听听听听听听 Two separate collisions are currently under investigation by Carlyle RCMP.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Two motorists were fined $580 each for motor vehicle insurance violations. Four motorists were fined $230 each for intersection-related offences - one of which almost caused a collision in a rural area near Carlyle.

听听听听听听听听听听听 An individual was found to be driving while suspended in Carlyle.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members responded to the report of a careless driver in the Kisbey area.

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP responded to several speeding violations this week which involved motorists passing emergency vehicles at over 60 km per hour. Three drivers received fines of $190 each and one motorist received a warning from police.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Two motorists received fines of $220 each for speeding through a school zone.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Two drivers were fined $280 each for operating a cellphone while driving.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Two individuals were fined $175 each for not wearing seatbelts.

听听听听听听听听听听听 A motorist was fined $150 for operating a motor vehicle without a valid drivers licence.

听听听听听听听听听听听 An individual was fined $175 for having an incorrect licence plate on a vehicle, while another person was found to be operating an unlicensed snowmobile.

听听听听听听听听听听听 An individual received a $100 fine for failing to produce valid vehicle registration.

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP issued several inspection tickets and/or warnings, including: improper window tint and problems with mufflers, exhaust pipes, daytime running lights, fenders, mudflaps and vehicle licence plate lights.
