聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽聽The Carlyle RCMP detachment will hold a Town Hall Meeting in Carlyle, Tuesday, March 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Carlyle Memorial Hall.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Detachment Commander Staff Sgt. Darren Simons says: 鈥淲e're hoping to do three other Town Hall meetings - in addition to the Carlyle event - within the detachment area. We want to hear from our communities about their concerns and we encourage everyone to attend. 鈥
听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淚t is our desire that the RCMP focuses our efforts in the proper direction to meet the expectations of the communities we serve,鈥 explains Simons. 鈥淲e are hoping that this meeting and subsequent meetings throughout our detachment area will give community members the opportunity to provide input in developing policing priorities.鈥
听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淭his information will then assist us in meeting the expectations of the communities and citizens we work with to make our communities safer and more productive,鈥 he adds. 鈥淲e desire true engagement, ensuring community input is acknowledged.鈥
听听听听听听听听听听听 From Thursday, Feb. 15 to Thursday, Feb. 22, members of the Carlyle detachment dealt with 47 calls to service.
听听听听听听听听听听听 911
听听听听听听听听听听听 Carlyle RCMP received two RID (Report Impaired Driver) calls via 911. One impaired driver was located by police on a grid road south of Carlyle after almost side-swiping another vehicle. An RCMP vehicle also sustained some damage during the pursuit of this motorist. As a result, a male was charged with two counts of impaired driving (one for a blood alcohol level over 80 mg.), dangerous driving and breach of undertaking.
听听听听听听听听听听听 A second RID call resulted in police locating the vehicle in question. This incident is still under investigation by RCMP.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Members received a call reporting unwanted and intoxicated individuals at a residence in the detachment area. This incident is still under investigation.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Police received a call regarding an individual choking.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Alcohol-related offence(s)
听听听听听听听听听听听 Members located an impaired driver within the detachment area.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Assault
听听听听听听听听听听听 Police responded to a report of an assault within the Carlyle area. A 26-year-old male was arrested, charged and held for an appearance in court. Subsequently, this individual was charged with assault, assault with a weapon and obstructing police. After his court appearance, this individual remains in custody. During this incident, a 29-year-old female was also charged with three counts of breach of undertaking. She appeared in court and was released from custody.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members responded to a call about an intoxicated individual. The caller was concerned about this individual's safety and well-being. Members located the individual and ensured this person was safe.
听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP assisted a bailiff regarding information.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Members provided assistance to a police service in British Columbia by serving subpoenas in the detachment area.
听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP members met with representatives from the R.M. of Walpole as a part of their Crime
聽Prevention Outreach program.
听听听听听听听听听听听 False alarm
听听听听听听听听听听听 An alarm went off in error at a Carlyle area business.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Harassment
听听听听听听听听听听听 Members investigated and dealt with a complaint of an individual sending harassing messages. The suspect was warned by police and the messages have since ceased.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Mental Health Act
听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP members assisted EMS responders in the detachment area with three situations聽 involving the Mental Health Act.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Municipal bylaw(s)
听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP assisted the Town of Redvers with regards to a municipal bylaw.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Traffic offences/Collisions
听听听听听听听听听听听 A single-vehicle rollover north of Manor resulted in minor injuries for both of the vehicle's聽 occupants.
听听听听听听听听听听听 An unoccupied vehicle was damaged during a hit and run in Wawota.
听听听听听听听听听听听 A motorist received a warning from police for accessing a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle. The fine for this offence is $280.
听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP received a report of a vehicle abandoned on a grid road.
听听听听听听听听听听听 A motorist was fined $230 for failing to stop at a posted stop sign.
听听听听听听听听听听听 A driver was charged with failing to wear a seatbelt.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Several motorists received fines and/or warnings for speeding, with fines reaching a high of $352.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Two individuals received warnings for towing trailers without valid registration.
听听听听听听听听听听听 Several warnings and/or inspection tickets were issued during this period, including: a vehicle with no clear view from the front or sides, a vehicle with auxilary lamps mounted higher than the vehicle's head lamps, inadequate tail lights, inadequate head lamps and improper window tint.

听听听听听听听听听听听 After receiving a report of uttering threats by youths, members investigated and issued a warning to those involved.
